We started Retro Tech Gear because the analog gear we grew up with — cassette decks, film cameras, CRT sets, mechanical typewriters — still does things digital replacements can’t. Warmer sound. Slower, more deliberate photos. Tactile keys that don’t need a battery.

Every buying guide on this site is written by people who actually use this stuff, not generated from spec sheets. We test for reliability, parts availability, and whether a piece is actually worth restoring — not just whether it looks good in a photo.
